South Dade Women Veterans Alliance, Inc. (SDWVA) is the only nonprofit organization in South Florida dedicated exclusively to empowering women veterans through trauma-informed support, advocacy, leadership development, community engagement, and opportunities that strengthen individuals, families, and communities.
For too long, the service and sacrifices of women veterans have gone unseen or unrecognized.

Rev. Julie Robison is a U.S. Army Veteran, veteran advocate, nonprofit executive, ordained minister, award-winning author, and community leader whose life and work is dedicated to serving those who have served our nation. Her military service, federal career with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, nonprofit leadership, and pastoral ministry reflects a lifelong commitment to improving the lives of veterans, military families, and the communities they call home.
Following her honorable service in the United States Army from 1980 to 1983, Rev. Robison dedicated five years to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs at the Miami VA Healthcare System, where she served as a Homeless Veterans Supportive Employment Specialist and Community Employment Coordinator.
In these roles, she worked alongside veterans facing homelessness, unemployment, and other significant challenges, connecting them with employment opportunities, housing resources, and supportive services that helped restore stability and hope. Her service at the Department of Veterans Affairs deepened her understanding of the diverse needs of veterans and strengthened her lifelong commitment to advocacy, collaboration, and community service.
Inspired by her experiences and recognizing the unique challenges often faced by women veterans, Rev. Robison founded the South Dade Women Veterans Alliance, Inc. (SDWVA), a nonprofit organization dedicated exclusively to serving women veterans. Under her leadership, SDWVA has served more than 1,000 women veterans through trauma-informed support, leadership development, resource navigation, wellness initiatives, emergency assistance, and strategic community partnerships. While SDWVA's mission focuses on women veterans, the organization also collaborates with community partners to connect veterans and military families with essential resources that strengthen the veteran community.
Women veterans face challenges too often overlooked, and SDWVA exists to ensure they never face them alone. From housing assistance and healthcare enrollment to trauma-focused support groups, we provide our Women Veterans a safe place to heal. We walk alongside women as they rebuild strong, resilient lives.
